How Does It Look in a Close-Up Environment?
 
A small coffee table book is introduced, said to be able to give the spectator a ‘reading.’ In the front of the book are the months of the year, the middle of the book are the days and the end of the book are Tarot cards. A personal item is handed to the performer, who takes a moment to examine it before writing something on a card and placing it face down on the table. The spectator is asked to keep the book tilted up so you cannot see anything and turn to the month of their birth in the book.
 
On the page are some personality traits that their friends either agree with or not. Based on their reactions, the performer writes something else down. Then, in order to ‘read’ them further, they are instructed to find a word on the page and commit it to memory. 
 
To discover a reading based on their present, they turn to the day of their birth and discover a ‘meditation’ or ‘mantra’ they connect with. The performer writes one final card and places it with the others.
 
In the final phase, the spectator spells their name to arrive at an ‘Earth Number,’ which leads them to a Tarot card, for example, ‘The Sun.’ There is only one of each Tarot card in the book, and they confirm they could have ended up on any card.
Without any information being revealed and although everything was written before any selections were made, the three cards are turned over. The first correctly reveals the chosen word. Then, the second card has a message: “My Bookmark.” In the back of the book, which they’ve been holding the entire time, is a single Tarot card… The Sun!
 
Finally, the performer reveals that this was all meant specifically for them. When holding the person’s personal item, the performer immediately wrote down a date significant to the spectator. It’s turned over and shown to be their full birthday!
 
How Does It Look in Parlour and Stage?
 
Much like the close-up version, the spectator turns to their birth month and selects a word, followed by the day of their birth, and then puts the book aside. The performer introduces a game of ‘hangman’ and starts revealing the letters: ‘O,’ ‘M,’ and ‘S.’ He then says, “I see you on your birthday, with your friends on something high up... like a mountain. Is your word ‘Mountainside?’” She fills in the remaining letters, confirming you were right.
 
At that point, you can also reveal their birthday or star sign!
